STAR CHANCE COMPETITION

"Star Chance" is the only international competition among young singers of Russian origins from America, Russia, Israel, Canada, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Germany. The competition was launched in May 2003 by Galina Skigina. The goal of the competition is to open and support rising stars and give them a chance to be heard and noticed by a wide audience of Russian Americans and entertainment industry producers in the U.S.

The finale of the Third International competition "Star Chance" will take place at "The Millennium Theatre" (1029 Brighton Beach Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11235) on September 20-21, 2008. The theatre venue has 1,500 seats.

Reaching the wide base of audience

The Third International competition "Star Chance" has a partnership with Davidzon Radio (DR) and NTV America. The competition has its program on DR weekly and its live concert on the stage of The Millennium Theatre will be televised by NTV America. Davidzon Radio has about 900,000 listeners in the tri state area and NTV America has 250,000 watchers in the U.S.

Rules for the 3rd "Star Chance" competition

The participant must be 16 to 25 years old. The competition will consist of three steps:

Step 1: auditioning of all registered young singers at the DR Concert Hall.

Step 2: the top 20 participants will compete at the semi-final

During everyday programs on air of DR, listeners will listen to participant’s records.

Step 3: the 12 final competitors will perform and compete on the stage of

The jury members include soviet pop stars as well as American and Russian celebrities, producers and directors.

Davidzon Radio is the biggest news/talk radio outlet in the New York Metropolitan area that broadcasts in Russian and can be heard throughout the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut areas. The station broadcasts every weekday on 620AM from 7AM-11AM and from 5PM-7PM. 620AM Davidzon Radio broadcasts world, national and local news with an emphasis on social issues for the Russian Speaking Community, Monday through Friday from 6AM-7PM. It also has a website, www.DavidzonRadio.com, where listeners can participate in programs, and make their opinions known through frequent polling on a variety of issues affecting the community.
